Laboratory & Prescription Medicine Services
Harlan Veterinary Associates maintains an on-site, full-service lab with up-to-date equipment that processes the following tests and provides rapid turnaround results:
- blood chemistries
- bile acid
- cytology (the study of cells) of the skin and ears
- diabetes, including diabetic curves and insulin management
- fecal flotation
- feline leukemia/FIV
- fungal cultures
- heartworm
- thyroid
- urinalysis, including sedimentation rate
X-rays, including radiographic contrast studies, are also used as diagnostic tools.
Our on-site pharmacy is stocked to fill medications prescribed by our veterinarians for acute and chronic illnesses as well as the prevention and control of external and internal parasites.
